NieR:Automata Sword & Katana Lore

In the hauntingly beautiful world of NieR:Automata, swords and katanas are not just weapons, they're extensions of memory and existential purpose. Wielded by YoRHa androids like 2B, 9S, and A2, these blades carry more than just combat functionality. They are vessels of forgotten history and emotional resonance in a world where humans are extinct and war has become routine. From the elegant Virtuous Contract to the corrupted Cruel Oath, each sword in NieR:Automata features its own backstory, evolving as the player unlocks deeper layers of lore. These weapons are not only aesthetically striking, with minimalist white and black designs, but they also symbolize the duality of hope and despair, machine and soul, logic and emotion.
