The Longsword of the Four Evangelists is a 44.75" display replica of the legendary craftable sword from Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, with an etched stainless steel blade and an antique bronze and brown handle. Its religious medieval detailing sets it apart from plainer longswords, and the strapped faux leather scabbard brings total length to 46.5".

The four evangelists are Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, and medieval art gave each one a symbol: Matthew as an angel, Mark as a winged lion, Luke as a winged bull, and John as an eagle. Those four figures cover cathedral stonework, illuminated manuscripts, and reliquaries across Europe, and in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II they cover this blade, engraved along its length as a legendary sword you forge rather than find.

Devotional inscription was standard practice on real European blades for the same reason. A knight's sword was blessed, sometimes named, and marked with text and imagery meant to be read by no one but the person holding it. This replica follows that lineage, pairing etched blade work with an aged bronze handle finish. Displayed, it belongs to the tradition of the sword as sacred object rather than the sword as tool.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Longsword of the Four Evangelists?

It is a 44.75" display replica of the legendary longsword from Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, distinguished by detailed religious medieval styling. It combines an etched stainless steel blade with an antique bronze and brown handle and ships with a strapped faux leather scabbard.

Who are the four evangelists on the blade?

Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the four gospel authors. Medieval tradition assigns each a symbol, and the in game description follows it exactly: Matthew as an angel, Mark as a winged lion, Luke as a winged bull, and John as an eagle. All four appear in the engraving work.

How do you get the Longsword of the Four Evangelists in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II?

It is crafted rather than looted. The blueprint comes from the blacksmith's commission line for legendary swords with Horst of Lishkov, and forging it calls for Frankfurt steel, iron, a weapon stub, enamel powder, and acidum chloridum.

What are the full dimensions of the replica?

Overall length is 44.75" with a 34.25" blade and a 10.5" handle. With the scabbard, total length reaches 46.5". It runs marginally shorter in the blade and handle than the Lingua Belli Longsword while sheathing to the same 46.5" carry length.

What is the handle finish?

The handle is finished in antique bronze and brown, an aged treatment rather than a bright polish. That deliberate patina is what gives the piece its reliquary look and distinguishes it from the brighter fittings on most display longswords.

Is the blade sharpened?

No. The blade is finished as a display replica with an unsharpened edge, intended for display, photography, and costume presentation.

Does it come with a scabbard?

Yes. A strapped faux leather scabbard is included. The straps allow belt mounting for costume use, and the scabbard shields the etched blade finish during storage.

How does it compare with the Lingua Belli Longsword?

Both are 46.5" sheathed medieval longswords with etched stainless blades, and both are craftable legendary weapons in the game. The difference is styling. The Lingua Belli Longsword uses a dark blue wire wrapped grip on a martial Latin theme, while this piece uses an antique bronze handle and religious iconography. Collectors often display the two together as a contrasting pair.

Is this officially licensed?

No. This is a fan inspired replica made independently, with no affiliation with or endorsement from Warhorse Studios, Deep Silver, or any other rights holder.

How do I care for the etched blade and antique finish?

Wipe the blade with a dry microfiber cloth after handling and apply a light film of mineral oil once or twice a year. Do not use metal polish or abrasive compounds on the handle. Polishing strips the antique bronze finish, and unlike surface dust that damage cannot be undone.
