The Sword of Darkness is a 39 inch metal replica inspired by the blade Rita Repulsa used to keep the Green Ranger under her spell. A 30.5 inch curved steel blade with perforated cutouts runs into a 9.5 inch jeweled handle wrapped in white and finished with a red tassel. In the first season of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, the Sword of Darkness was the weapon that made Rita Repulsa's plan work. According to the story, it once belonged to Zordon's side and was taken as a prize after Rita's forces won a battle thousands of years ago. She kept it until she needed a way to make sure her new Green Ranger stayed loyal.

In the five part story Green With Evil, Rita handed the sword to Tommy Oliver and it locked him into her spell, with the only cure being to destroy it. In the final duel, Jason disarmed Tommy and destroyed the blade, freeing him and opening the door for Tommy to join the team. Mounted on its stand, this replica brings that turning point home.
